Growing up in Alaska, you learn to quickly spot the camouflaged in nature, whether it's a moose in the brush, salmon in the stream, or edibles in the thick brush. I've been playing with this a bit, starting with an acrylic pour, adding the camouflaged nature, and topping with a splash resin finish for the wet look that has become a favorite of mine. Here are new pieces now available at Mythos Gallery or online at Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TMDerrickson Salmon Run, 22x14 acrylic & resin diptych on wood panel Salmon Run detail (did you spot them first in the above full diptych?)
Because sometimes you just have to paint what makes you giggle... :)
Family Vacation, 24x48, acrylic & resin A couple fun new pieces shipped off to the Andersonville Galleria in Chicago! So if you are in Chicago, swing by (masks required)! Or you can give them a call (773) 878-8570
I don't know if it is Portland, St. Johns, or if it is the stay at home order, but even a short walk around the block (with a mask of course), brings encounters with the loveliest people out on their porches, just saying hi, giving their best wishes... it seems like all are up for an across-the-lawn chat. Sometimes on these walks I feel like I live in Mayberry...
